With profound sadness and heartfelt sympathy, we announce the passing of Sue Kitto, who died peacefully at Mount Edgcumbe Hospice on 14th February 2026, following a courageous and dignified battle with cancer. She was 56 years old and of Padstow.
Sue was the devoted and loving partner of John, whose unwavering support and love meant so much throughout her life. She was a wonderful and caring mother to her beloved daughter Ellie, and a much-loved step-mum to Hollie and Alice. Sue’s family was the center of her world, and she dedicated herself wholeheartedly to their happiness and well-being. She was a deeply loved daughter of Ron and the late Dorothy, a treasured sister to Sarah, and a valued sister-in-law to Paul.
Perhaps one of her greatest joys was being “Nan Sue” to her adored grandchildren—Jack, Billy, Hughie, Jago, and Leo. She wore that title with immense pride and delight, creating precious memories filled with warmth, laughter, and unconditional love. Her grandchildren will forever carry forward the kindness and affection she so generously shared.
Throughout her illness, Sue demonstrated extraordinary strength, grace, and determination. Even during the most challenging days, her focus remained on others. She continued to offer encouragement, comfort, and joy to those around her, never allowing her circumstances to overshadow her caring nature. Her resilience was truly inspiring, and her radiant spirit remained steadfast and bright.
Sue’s kindness extended well beyond her family. She was a loyal and cherished friend to many, always ready with a listening ear, wise words, or a touch of humor when it was needed most. Her compassion, generosity, and genuine warmth left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
While her passing leaves an immeasurable void, the memories she created will be treasured forever. Her legacy lives on in the love she gave so freely and in the strength she showed so courageously.
The funeral service will take place at St Petroc’s Parish Church, Padstow, on Friday 20th March at 12 noon, followed by a private cremation. Family flowers only. Donations in Sue’s memory, if desired, may be made to Mount Edgcumbe Hospice online via Memory Giving, by retiring collection, or through R. J. Bray & Son Funeral Directors.
Sue will be deeply missed and forever remembered with love.
