Abby, who tragically passed away, leaves behind an immense legacy of dedication, kindness, and commitment to her students, colleagues, and the community. Abby was a proud graduate of Central High School, and her return as a teacher marked the beginning of a remarkable career devoted to the growth and well-being of her students. Since joining the district in 2002, she became an integral part of the school community. Abby worked tirelessly to ensure that every student felt supported, valued, and empowered to reach their fullest potential. Her warmth and generosity were not confined to her role as an educator; she was a mentor, coach, and advisor who gave her time and energy selflessly to her students.
As Senior Class Advisor, Track Coach, Unified Basketball Coach, Yearbook Advisor, and a member of the Central Pride Foundation, Abby left an indelible mark on her school community. She was not only a teacher but also a guide and a friend, always ready to lend an encouraging word, share a smile, and provide comfort in times of need. She attended nearly all school events, further demonstrating her deep commitment to the success and well-being of her students. Abby was a true champion for the students and her absence will be felt deeply by all who had the privilege of working alongside her.
In light of Abby’s passing, the Manchester School District is providing counseling services to support students, staff, and families as they navigate this incredibly difficult time. Support sessions will be held on Tuesday, February 24th, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and additional counseling resources will be available in the weeks ahead. We encourage anyone affected to utilize these resources as they process this tragic loss.
